This page is dedicated to entries about my life. Updating will be inconsistent since I will mostly be marking upon interesting points of my life and/or progress of my transition. Hopefully since life throws lots of things my way I can slowly (or quickly) accumulate a sizeable page of experiences. I may or may not also decide to include memories, which will probably be marked by "MEM" or just "M" to signify that the log is a memory and is most likely not current.
On April 3rd, I started taking Testosterone Cypionate injections as a transmasculine person! it was a bit scary at first since I had to administer the shot to myself (luckily my partner was willing to help make it a bit easier for me.) but I am super glad I have the opportunity to do this. my dose is micro (0.1mL every 2 weeks, but I am upping my dose to 0.2mL every week now.) since I am recieving leftover T from a friend of mine. luckily since any needles he used are one use and were never reused, taking this leftover T is completely safe and all I need to do is sterilize the top of the bottle where you draw your dose up.
this date marked week 2, I decided to not increase dosage due to limited supply at the time, although I did increase frequency to 1/week compared to 1/ 2 weeks. Noticable effects and changes include being a bit shakey after injection due to adrenaline along with a little bit of anxiety, a small increase of energy for the remainder of the day. no leakage occured compared to the first dose due to stretching the skin while administering the needle.
This was the big week with the most changes! I believe it occured so fast due to a possibly preexisting higher amount of testosterone in my body since this date only marked week 3. This however can also just be linked to the T building up in my system. Anyhow, changes include:
- same adrenaline shakes as previously mentioned
- increased oil secretion from skin, slight change in skin texture (slightly rougher to the touch)
- visible growth of mustache (although it is blonde since I have red hair so it is not visible at far distances...)
- increased libido preexisting ovulation period of my menstrual cycle.
- large increase in clitoral sensitivity as well as noticeable beginning of bottom growth
- increase in acne (I never really had acne before but I do now, its not a lot but it is still annoying when my face suddenly breaks out overnight)
from my current status after running out, I still have my mustache, and continue maintining it using minoxodil topical 5% foam for hair growth in general. At this time in transition, my voice has also deepened a bit, it is noticeable and I still encounter the occasional voice crack (hilarious). In regards to my hobby of singing, this change has not ruined my ability to sing, rather, it actually improved my range along with vocal training (I am an afab alto). some notes are now easier to reach. On the other hand, some higher notes are no longer possible and singing those notes result in a complete lack of sound.
This marks one month on T, not many changes this week other than increased clitoral sensitivity before beginning of menstrual cycle. Also marked change in overall mood, recording "feeling fine :)". There was also the beginning of slight injection pain increase possibly due to injection site fatigue from switching between left and right shoulder muscle every week.
I decided to combine these entries due to those two weeks recording the final T shot as well as marking the official running-out-of-T. Noting that May 1st entry mainly deals with psychological changes due to being anxious about running out. These include:
- injection hurt more than usual
- instead of being energetic after injection, felt fatigued overall and a bit depressed/apathetic
May 8th entry is the entry mark in which I actually ran out, my last dose being the correct amount but not being enough to even push out of the needle. I am unsure of how to combat that if theres even a way to do so in the first place. Therefore, I had ran out. Marked "will continue to use minoxodil to improve facial/body hair growth" in the meantime between May 8th and the next time I am able to start again.
Well folks, Its been a while since I added an entry, I do have more on the way since I have logged changes in a journal including the dates! Its most liekly going to be a while until I upload all of them considering fun update: I am in College now for IT programming, so yay. Currently status: have been out of T since early may, I have not been able to make the appointment to get more officially. I am excited and eager to restart. The effects I recieved from my initial taking of T have remained, which I'm glad about.
I recently got a new job at a bar and I am alsao finally in college! I am going for programming and, its pretty fun! At my job I work in the kitchen and for once I feel like this job is actually doing me good instead of harm like every other job I've had. I hope that I will be able to stay for a while even though I am in school for Programming.
